Brugse Zot

Brugse Zot is brewed by De Halve Maan brewery in Bruges and has been on the market since 2005. The name derives from the nickname of the people of Bruges, who are called ‘Brugse zotten’ (the mad people of Bruges) and refers to a legend according to which Maximilian I of Austria famously said: “Close all the gates of Bruges and you have a madhouse”.
