Watermelon Gin Fizz
What’s a better way to celebrate World Gin Week than to celebrate it with travel inspired gin cocktails that make you think about your (next) trip.
For the cocktail in this blog Mixologist Brecht Machiels from Let’s Drink Cocktails was inspired by the beach and beach holidays. If you think of the sun and the heat, you think about indulging in a piece of watermelon. The beach with a beach bar and fruity cocktails. That sounds like heaven to our ears. So for this cocktail Brecht mixed the tastes of watermelon with freshness of mint and gin.
-
Ingredients
- 60 ml Hendrick's Gin
- 1 small watermelon
- 22ml of lime juice
- 6 mint leaves
- Sparkling water
How do I make the Watermelon Gin Fizz? This cocktail can be made in a shaker or in a blender. For both: add about 1,5 cup of watermelon pieces and 6 mint leaves. If you’re going to shake the cocktail, then first muddle the watermelon and the mint. To this add 60 ml of gin and 22 ml of lime juice. Shake over ice (30 seconds) or blend with crushed ice. Pour the drink in glass jar or in a hollowed mini watermelon. Top up with sparkling water. -
Which gin is best to use?Brecht chose to use Hendrick's Gin for this recipe. Get your Hendrick's Gin here.
