Did you know that Havana Club in 1878 was originally called La Vizcaya? The rum distillery was originally founded by a Spanish immigrant who moved to Cuba. In 1921, the company was renamed José Arechabala S.A., until it was nationalised in 1959 during the Cuban Revolution and the authorities chose the name Havana Club.
