Laurent-Perrier has chosen to make vintages very rarely by selecting only the best years and ensuring the Brut Millésimé (Vintage Brut) is a rare and outstanding wine that clearly expresses the specific character of a year in the Laurent-Perrier style. The year 2006 began with a cold winter, followed by a generally mild spring with very few frosts, except in early April. Summer was a time of contrasts, with a heatwave and very patchy rainfall in July. August brought frequent storms, followed by cool, overcast weather and unusually high rainfall. The grapes were harvested between 7th and 25th September, bringing an abundant harvest and a good but heterogeneous maturity.
